[edit] Edit war

We don't need to have an edit war. --LU 16:50, 27 January 2007 (EST)

Then I suggest that you re-read what I said. We are reviewing, it might be deleted, but it is to obtrusive. Meaning in it's current state we aren't going to employ its use. You are of course welcome to revise it--Robin 16:52, 27 January 2007 (EST)
I would really like to know who is this "we" you keep mentioning. Seriously. Who makes up this shadowy cabal, besides you? So what is the process for approval? Actually I don't really care if you want to look like an ass, with poor quality content being untagged, I gave it my best shot to solve this problem, if you don't care, neither do I. --LU 17:40, 27 January 2007 (EST)
WE would be the administration of the site. You'll recall that the reference was made to respecting our staff and other members. Something which has been mentioned to you before. I know it isn't a new concept for you. --Robin
Yes, i believe you polled every single staff and member in castlecops and they agreed that the template should not be used. Heck you probably didn't even consult anybody. Stop pretending you got some imaginary concensus behind you when you acted the way you did. --LU 18:10, 27 January 2007 (EST)
As for looking like an ass I don't think I'm the one in danger of that.--Robin 17:50, 27 January 2007 (EST)
Is it "I" or "We" now? --LU 18:02, 27 January 2007 (EST)
LU, how is this serving anything useful at CC? Educational content is brilliant. Ike pointed out you have an abrasive style, and this is what is causing harm LU. You need to change the way you communicate with people, because you are causing hurt. CC does not stand for this, no matter what kind of content is being shared.
I expect that as of this moment your communication style will no longer be harmful to others. --Paul 13:40, 28 January 2007 (EST)
Well I love the way how it becomes a matter of my conversational style, when it was the other party who started it with their abrasive and rash remarks. I merely pointed out that my edits was in good faith, and instead of apologising for the mistake, all i got was just more attacks
So naturally, it must all be my fault. --LU 13:02, 29 January 2007 (EST)
Continued here under pursuing your feelings. --Paul 18:25, 29 January 2007 (EST)

[edit] Helping Handlers

Robin, I experimented with reformatting PIRT:Notification Emails to something like PIRT:All Notification Emails - Another Approach. I was expecting your response to my comments at Talk PIRT:All Notification Emails For comment only. Just a heads-up in case you missed my comments. :) --Ikester 17:23, 7 February 2007 (EST)

Hmmm... I thought I did comment there. Maybe I didn't save it. I'll have to look. Thanks Ike --Robin 18:54, 7 February 2007 (EST)
As he waits (im)patiently while the forums are down. :) --Ikester 22:54, 7 February 2007 (EST)
Sorry we were doing a mysql upgrade and it took a little longer then we expected. --Robin 11:42, 8 February 2007 (EST)

OK we got some initial feedback from some of the handlers but nothing after that. Should I just drop this idea? Not a lot of handlers commented, there doesn't appear to be a consistent preference, nor has there been any response to my followup to comments. That said, I suspect the handlers would like the improved efficiency if this approach were adopted. Maybe jog them to check the Talk PIRT:All Notification Emails - Another Approach page again? --Ikester 13:36, 10 February 2007 (EST)

Thanks Ike, will do--Robin 11:27, 12 February 2007 (EST)

[edit] SIRT Handler Guide

Hi Robin.

August 10 at http://wiki.castlecops.com/User_talk:Tembow you asked me to stop porting the PIRT handler guide to SIRT, because it was causing page conflicts. You stated that you were preparing the guide.

I have done as you requested. We now have a backlog of thousands or SIRTs in queue, and two handlers trained, and several volunteers who are going cold awaiting training. Please update me on the status.

[edit] syndicated news feeds broken

RSS and Atom are broken.

It's a mediawiki feature. see Wikipedia's Atom feed Brewt 13:38, 25 September 2007 (EDT)

Hmmm ... I haven't used these in a while but indeed neither are responding. --Ikester 09:05, 26 September 2007 (EDT)
I believe we disabled it. I'll check to be sure. --Robin 11:49, 26 September 2007 (EDT)
Ah yes, right you are Robin. IIRC, you found the feed to be a security vulnerability as it allows through any changes at the staff and/or *IRT namespaces. --Ikester 13:26, 26 September 2007 (EDT)
Taking a closer look at the wikipedia feed, I see that the actual changes are indeed contained in the feed, not just the summary data (page, editor, comment). Thanks for the explanation. Brewt 15:13, 26 September 2007 (EDT)
