Team CastleCops:How to Join Folding@Home

From CastleCopsWiki

Jump to: navigation, search

1. Go to Folding@Home and download the Client of your choice for your Operating System. Installation and License information are provided along with MD5-Hashes of the downloads.

2. During setup of the Client you will be asked for a team number. Team CastleCops is number 35586.

3. Complete your first Work Unit and upload it to the Stanford servers (It may take a bit of time for it to show up on the servers). You are now eligible to become a full member of the Team Folding@Home (Team F@H) component of Team CastleCops.

To formally activate your membership, just go to this page and click join. The Forum Host will be notified and will add you after verifying completion of your first Work Unit. If the Host cannot verify completion of your first Work Unit--perhaps because you used a different uname--the Host will contact you by Private Message. Formal membership entitles you to proudly wear the Team F@H badge

Supported Operating Systems:
Windows 98/ME
Windows NT/2000/XP
Linux
Mac OS X

Available Clients:
The Console clients run in the background and are launched from a terminal, to which they output text messages about the simulation's progress.

The Graphical clients run in the background and have a graphics window available that allows you to see the protein being simulated.

The Screensaver client runs just like any other screensaver, except that it also runs the simulation in the background.
