[edit] I Hate Keyloggers (nagware)
I have read complains about this being close to a keylogger. I will investigate. Anyone is welcome to weigh in on the issue. --LU 16:07, 26 July 2007 (EDT)
- Close? Are there degrees of keyloggers i.e. how can it be close yet not be one? --Ikester 22:50, 26 July 2007 (EDT)
- It can use similar techniques to protect for example without actually being a real keylogger that steals your key strokes (which seems to be what a few scanners are picking up heuristically). Be patient I'm checking it out with the help of a few friends. --LU 01:46, 27 July 2007 (EDT)
- update : I got an email from the programmer denying that it is a keylogger.

The mechanism of my program is similar to a keylogger (as you can read at the product page). That's why it got a false-positive. Of course it is not a keylogger; you can do any kind of analysis (registry monitoring, file system monitoring, or even network monitoring) to get your own conclusion.A few days ago, I emailed AVG technical support and they said this false detection will be removed in next AVG update.'Please check again next week. Anyway, it is just heartbreaking to see the program being perceived as a keylogger :(
Of course, I'm not just going to take his word for it. This is CC, hundreds of people around the world rely on this page for recommendations. The name and honour of CC is at stake. I'm very aware of the sheer responsibility involved. :) --LU 07:51, 27 July 2007 (EDT)
- OK, thanks for answering my question. I now appreciate what you meant by "close". As for taking his word for it, any checking you could do would be great. Dunno that these pages are that popular but the disclaimers you've already placed should do for any CYA eventuality. ;) --Ikester 08:50, 28 July 2007 (EDT)
