[edit] Use of parens in title
The link comes back with special code formatting for the "()" and I'm wondering if it should remain in the title? Perhaps "move" the page CastleCops_Staff:_Special_Response_Team_(SRT) to CastleCops_Staff:_Special_Response_Team? Also create CastleCops_Staff:_SRT as a redirect to CastleCops_Staff:_Special_Response_Team.
- Good point. --Ikeb 10:39, 2 Aug 2005 (EDT)
- The SRT page was moved. A redirect page wasn't needed (I just repeated the link but used "(SRT)" as the displayed name.) --Ikeb 01:06, 3 Aug 2005 (EDT)
Although, one more question, there is an underscore between the ":" and the "S". Perhaps take that away and utilize redirects as mentioned above? So "move" CastleCops_Staff:_Special_Response_Team to CastleCops_Staff:Special_Response_Team. --Paul 10:15, 2 Aug 2005 (EDT)
- Here is an example, if you go to CastleCops_Staff:SRT it'll redirect right now to CastleCops_Staff:_Special_Response_Team_(SRT). --Paul 10:31, 2 Aug 2005 (EDT)
- The title itself does not have the underscores but is added to create the page (I'm guessing). Anyway why is the underscore a problem? I ask because there are lots of pages with the ":" followed by a space, followed by some other letter. That adds up plus folks could add more such page names. --Ikeb 10:39, 2 Aug 2005 (EDT)
- Ok so then the question becomes consistency. Will there be a space following the colon for articles? I like having the space removed, but I'm good either way. Or am I being paranoid? --Paul 11:24, 2 Aug 2005 (EDT)
- Comment. On second thought, in looking at the User:Name articles and such, they are lacking in the "space" post ":". If there were to be made a change, it would be far easier now than later. So that's my two pence. Thoughts?--Paul 11:30, 2 Aug 2005 (EDT)

- To me it just seems more natural to allow the space. So other than the consistency concern is there anything else? What prompts your paranoia?
BTW as I understand it, the User:, Special: etc. precursors are mediawiki namespaces ... not the same as a simple page naming convention. --Ikeb 14:18, 2 Aug 2005 (EDT)

- I tend to type in the wiki internal links by hand, and by its very nature there is no space after the colon. As to the number of how many there are with the space, they _should_ be easy to rectify by clicking the "move" button. This way the old names still exist but are given redirects. If its just me, then lets just keep it as-is. If it ever comes up in the future, we've already discussed it. As to the namespace, I like that whole idea and thought we could perhaps have a "CastleCops" namespace?--Paul 14:27, 2 Aug 2005 (EDT)
[edit] Separate CastleCops Namespace
I've been off reviewing use of namespaces and have mixed feelings. Namespaces are normally used to separate policy from content but I think it could be argued that the whole CastleCops category relates to forum policy and procedure matters. I'm not sure how pages within and to the namespace would be linked though ... is this something you could set up as a test trial? --Ikeb 01:06, 3 Aug 2005 (EDT)
- Only one way to find out... and there is always undo. ;) --Paul 01:11, 3 Aug 2005 (EDT)
[edit] Jul 9
Today marks the second anniversary of SRT. --Paul 09:51, 9 July 2006 (EDT)
- Two years? Where has the time gone. Anyway, very good! Yet another CastleCops milestone. --Ikester 14:00, 9 July 2006 (EDT)
