CastleCops Staff: Phishing Squad

Members of the Phishing Squad are volunteer staff chosen on the basis of expertise or strong interest in phishing, pharming, online fraud, identity theft, or a supporting discipline. Members may be recruited from existing staff or from the membership at large.

Phishing Squad responsibilities, in order of priority, are as follows:

  1. To provide information on all aspects of online fraud and to render assistance to members who experience, or think they might be experiencing, fraudulent approaches to compromise personal or financial information.

    In the execution of this responsibility members of this group are expected to perform any or all of the following:
    • Comport themselves in a manner consistent with the Castlecops Vision[1] (required of all members).
    • Introduce timely and relevant information pertaining to online frauds, scams, and the technical and social engineering techniques that they employ.
    • Stimulate discussion and conversation within the dedicated forum[2].
    • Ensure, as far as possible, the technical accuracy of information provided within the forum whether from site resources or visitors.
    • Assist in maintaining and expanding the topical area of the Castlecops Wiki[3]
    • Perform analysis of specific fraudulent approaches.

  2. To assist in maintaining the integrity and spirit of the CastleCops domain by:
    • Reading and keeping themselves abreast of changes to the CastleCops Vision[4], Acceptable Use Policy[5], forum rules, and established staff policies and procedures.
    • Providing constructive comments on policies and procedures which are under staff discussion.
    • Initiating change through staff channels.
