CastleCops Staff: Moderator
From CastleCopsWiki
Moderators are members of the volunteer staff chosen on the basis of the ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner, sound judgement, and friendly demeanor which is consistent with the site vision. They monitor the quality of the comments on the site to prevent abuse, illegal activity and/or gross violation of the AUP. There is no technical knowledge requirement to become a moderator, although many of the current moderators have extensive technical knowledge.
New Moderators may be chosen from either current staff members or from the site community. In either case the individual goes through a training process before being granted full Moderator privileges.
[edit] Moderator Access
Moderators on CastleCops do not have access to all forums. There are private forums which are moderated by a private group associated with that forum. The MVP Forum is a perfect example. It is a private hidden forum, the only people who have access to that forum are the MVP's, not even Forum Admins who are not MVP's themselves have access.
There are many exceptions to the rule.
[edit] Moderator Privileges
Moderators have the ability to move, merge, split, lock and unlock topics. Moderators also have the ability to give members warnings, bans, and ban removals.
